People Also Ask - FAQs for Fier

Is Fier worth stopping at?

Apollonia Archaeological Park is the reason to stop. It is one of Albania’s best-preserved ancient sites in a stunning hilltop setting. The city of Fier itself offers basic services but is not a destination on its own.

How long does Apollonia take to visit?

Allow 2-3 hours to explore the ruins, the museum (in the monastery church), and enjoy the views. The site is extensive but the main monuments are concentrated.

Is Apollonia wheelchair accessible?

Partially. The main path and some monuments are accessible but the uneven ancient stone surfaces and hilltop location present challenges.
