Bajram Curri is the main town of the Tropoja district, a frontier settlement in the northern Albanian highlands named after the national hero who led the 1912 uprising. It sits in the Valbona River valley and is the administrative and commercial hub for the entire Valbona-Theth region. The town is functional rather than beautiful – concrete buildings, a central square, a few hotels and restaurants – but it is the gateway to Valbona Valley. If you are hiking the Valbona-Theth circuit, Bajram Curri is where you stock up on supplies, withdraw cash, and catch a minibus to the trailhead.

How to Get There
From the Lake Koman ferry terminal in Fierze, take a minibus to Bajram Curri (30 minutes, 300 LEK). From Tirana, the drive via Kukes takes roughly 4 hours. A taxi from Fierze costs 1,500 to 2,000 LEK.
