Nivice is a near-abandoned stone village perched on a mountainside above the Borsh valley, at roughly 750 metres elevation. It is reached by a narrow, deteriorating road that switchbacks up through olive terraces and fig orchards, and the reward at the top is a panoramic view of the Ionian Sea stretching from Corfu to the Karaburun Peninsula, seen through the empty stone window frames of houses that have not been lived in for decades. Perhaps 10 people remain year-round. The village church, the Church of Saint Mary, is still maintained and occasionally holds services.

How to Get There
The road to Nivice branches off the SH8 just north of Borsh. It is signed but narrow and deteriorating. The climb takes 20 to 25 minutes. 2WD is possible in dry conditions but a 4×4 is more comfortable. No public transport.
