Orikum is a small coastal town at the southern tip of Vlore Bay, where the Karaburun Peninsula begins and the Ionian Sea properly starts. It has a marina, a long pebble beach, and a surprising historical pedigree: the ancient city of Oricum, founded by Greek colonists in the 7th century BC, lies partially excavated just inland. Julius Caesar camped here during his campaign against Pompey. Today the main landmark is the marina, which shelters fishing boats and the occasional yacht, and the beach, which is quieter and cleaner than the Vlore strip to the north.

How to Get There
Drive south from Vlore on the SH8 for roughly 15 kilometres. Orikum is signed on the left before the road climbs toward the Llogara Pass. Parking is free along the marina and beach road. Furgons from Vlore run regularly in summer for 150 LEK.
