Peshkopi is the main town of the Diber district, a regional centre of roughly 14,000 people in the Drin River valley at the foot of Mount Korab. The town is known for its thermal springs, which feed a public bathhouse at 35 to 40 degrees Celsius. The surrounding mountains offer serious hiking, including the ascent of Korab at 2,764 metres, the highest peak in Albania and North Macedonia.
